Corporate Team Advises Warren James as Pinewood Studios Raises £30m

The Corporate team at Turner Parkinson, led by James Sheridan, advised Warren James on Pinewood Group’s £30m placing and £135m re-financing announced on 31 March.

Pinewood is one of the world’s leading TV and film studios, being famous for amongst others its involvement with the James Bond and Harry Potter film franchises.  The recently announced deal sees Pinewood raising £30m via a placing with institutional shareholders and confirming a new £135m debt facility with its banking syndicate. The new funds will help Pinewood fund the first phase of a major extension to Pinewood’s main site as it seeks to cater for increasing demand for its facilities and services.

The deal also sees North West-based Peel and the Isle of Man Government sell down their stakes in Pinewood, with Warren James maintaining its 26% stake.

Commenting on the Turner Parkinson involvement, James Sheridan said: “ We have worked with Warren James on its investment in Pinewood since it first built a significant stake in 2011 at the time of a takeover offer. Since then, Pinewood has expanded its business both in the UK and overseas, and been successful in gaining planning permission for its new facilities – and with Pinewood publicly stating that it hopes to return to the Main Market soon, it’s exciting to see the business continue its development.”
